The acclaimed director behind Burning reunites with longtime collaborators Jeon Do-yeon and Sul Kyung-gu in a new emotional drama about two contrasting marriages.
Korean auteur Lee Chang-dong is making a long-awaited return to the director’s chair with Possible Love, a new feature drama backed by Netflix. This marks Lee’s first film since Burning (2018), the critically acclaimed psychological mystery based on a short story by Haruki Murakami.
Possible Love brings Lee back together with two of the most iconic actors from his earlier career: Jeon Do-yeon, the Cannes Best Actress winner from Secret Sunshine, and Sul Kyung-gu, the star of Lee’s 1999 breakthrough, Peppermint Candy.
According to Netflix, the film explores “the intertwined lives of two married couples leading completely opposite lives. As their worlds collide, fractures begin to appear in their daily existence,” promising another emotionally rich and socially incisive story from one of South Korea’s most revered filmmakers.
