In Hollywood, even a wig can become a battleground.
Jennifer Aniston revealed she went toe-to-toe with studio executives over her character’s look in the 2011 dark comedy Horrible Bosses. During a recent interview for Vanity Fair’s “Rewatch” video series, the actress shared how she had to fight to wear a brunette wig — a drastic shift from her signature blonde — despite resistance from Warner Bros.
“I fought for that wig, by the way. That was not an easy battle,” Aniston explained. “I wanted [my character] to look different. The argument from the studio — and I’m sorry to call you out — was, ‘We’re just afraid it won’t look like you.’ And I said, ‘That’s kind of the point!’”
Ultimately, Aniston prevailed — and she has no regrets.
“I still think it might look a little bit like me,” she added with a laugh. “But I’m glad I fought for it and stuck to my guns.”
